The Technique

Lubosh has developed a unique method of treating wood surfaces to echo the ancient temple environment. Over the course of many days, he layers paint, pigments, wax and varnishes, creating captivating gilded textures that feel timeless. Lubosh prints the sacred images on exhibition canvas with the highest quality archival inks, mounts them on acid-free board and glues them to the gilded panels. Hidden under each image is a written prayer invoking the pictured deity, blessing both the maker and the future owner of the piece.

From the Heart of Nepal

The daily practice of devotional worship permeates Nepal where the Hindu and Buddhist iconographies live side-by-side in perfect harmony. The practices and rituals of each religion overlap and complement each other and everyone has the opportunity to connect to the archetypal energies that the statues, temples and stupas represent. By relating to these works of art, we become connected to the deepest parts of ourselves regardless of our cultural background.

Capturing the essence of this ancient healing power of devotion, Lubosh creates panels, altar blocks, photo illustrations and paintings that can transform any space into a sanctuary.
